Farm practices

We farm because we love growing food, working outside and messing in the dirt. We love everything about raising vegetables from seeding, planting, and harvesting it to preparing, eating and sharing it. Simply put, we raise food for the pleasure it brings.

As for how we grow, we use safe practices – we will never use synthetic pesticides or herbicides, nor use GMO seeds. We consider and promote biological diversity in our production plans. We wouldn’t do it any other way. We want food that is safe for our family, friends and neighbors. And just as we want to keep our human community vibrant, healthy, we want to preserve the good life of our companions in this work: the soil, plants, insects and animals with which we share land.

We will not be certified organic during our first growing season. As soon as our land is eligible, we are planning to seek certification – sometime in the summer of 2017.
