Steady Hand Farm

Steady Hand is the family farm of Juli & Jason Montgomery-Riess.

Stay tuned for updates on our 2018 CSA offerings.

We raise our produce on a 70-Acre farm situated in the mixed pine birch forests and lake country of Polk County near St. Croix Falls and Amery, WI. The Apple River flows to our south, and our neighbors include humans, otters, snakes, pigs, chickens, and insects galore. We join several other small vegetable and animal farms nearby, which makes for a strong farm community to lean on and collaborate with regularly.

While our farm is in it’s fourth year of production, we are not new to this work. Prior to starting Steady Hand Farm, we have 9 seasons of CSA experience including 4 years of management. We look forward to incorporating our children into as much of the work as they want, knowing that there will be times that they force us to slow our pace and tend to their worlds. Certainly this is a challenge, but one that we believe brings a richness to our work and the process of growing your food.

Invite the pleasure of good food and eating into your home. Choose Steady Hand Farm.
